FitFarms has a unique mentor system where we have trainers that are not just in health team positions but they also work as your mentor and support for the week. The mentors have all worked at managerial level before they joined us at FitFarms. They are chosen not only for their advanced weight loss and fitness qualifications but also their personal skills. FitFarms is particularly strong in nutrition and has written regular columns in The Daily Telegraph. The mentors are all extremely approachable, knowledgeable and they will work with you to reach your short and long term goals. The mentors are backed up by a large team of specialist instructors which are all experts within their field varying from Life Coaches to Pilates Instructors and Nutritional Therapist to name but a few.
 
 
 

Health Manager and Weight Management Specialist

Andrew Baker
Andrew is a fully qualified personal trainer specialising in weight management and medical rehabilitation. Like all of our mentors Andrew has also worked as a manager in a national leisure facility. The bulk of his experience is working with people looking to gain and maintain a healthy weight whilst working on their overall fitness levels. He is a qualified in Vipr, kettlebells and powerplate. Andrew says “I really believe that fun and variety are the key to any long term program and that exercise should always feel like a welcome escape and something to look forward to.”

Exercise Specialist and Mentor

Helen Nutter
Helen has been working for in the residential weight loss industry since she graduated with a Sports Science Degree from Swansea University. Her area of expertise is in strength training but she also covers dance and agility. Helen has a holistic approach to health and fitness which comes across in her lifestyle workshops. She is a very popular mentor and is great and getting the best out of guests giving different intensity levels to all types of exercise.

Nutritional Therapist

Lesley Harper
Having left a decade-long career in engineering, Lesley qualified as a Nutritional Therapist in 2009 in Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy. Lesley made the move to study and practice nutrition after experiencing first-hand the improvements the approach made to her own health issues. Lesley seeks to promote nutritional approaches to as wide an audience as possible:

“The field of nutrition and its potential to optimise health is continually evolving and I feel honoured to be in a position to share what I know to help people achieve their potential. It is therefore vital that I continue to develop and update my knowledge through continual professional development.”

Lesley has a busy private practice in Exeter and a particular interest in stress-related disorders and digestive problems. Outside of nutrition Lesley enjoys travel, yoga, and live music. Going to rainy festivals is a particular favourite!

Lesley is a Registered Nutritional Therapist with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). She is a full member of the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and a college tutor for Natural Healthcare College.

Cara Hooper
Cara is a vastly experienced Life Coach with a real passion for facilitating positive behavioural changes in the people she works with. Her approach is one that allows each individual to identify their own goals and choose the approach to aid their development, rather than being directive. Cara will support you in becoming aware of, and making changes to, any negative habits you may have developed in relation to your health and well-being.

Claire Swaffield
Claire comes with a wealth of experience and a commitment to facilitating long lasting behaviour change. Using basic principles of listening to thoughts she breaks down unwanted habits into changeable and manageable steps that last. Claire will support you during and after your course in becoming aware of and making changes to any negative habits you may have developed in relation to your health and wellbeing. Using Psychological techniques and theories Claire enjoys training people in having the mindset that makes the difference alongside assisting in others personal development and confidence building.

Sean Robinson
Sean is a well rounded personal trainer having trained in the UK, America and Australia. He is a fully certified personal trainer and a GP referral specialist. Sean graduated with a Sports and Exercise Science Degree from DeMontfort University in 2008 and has always worked within the leisure industry. He has worked as a senior fitness advisor delivering high level fitness programs, studio classes and group sessions. Like all the FitFarms team Sean is very approachable with a holistic approach.

Life Coach

Liz Wilson
Liz spent over 20 years in the music business and then met a man on a train who totally inspired her, she took a massive leap of faith and retrained as a coach. She had come to realise that her motivation and passion was focused on helping others live flourishing lives and that she needed to do something very different in order to fulfil that passion. 12 years on Liz coaches individuals who want to make big changes, whether lifestyle changes, career changes, or working through organisational change and all that transition brings. In 2009 Liz was the co author of “Emotional Intelligence Coaching” which was nominated for the FT Goldman Sacks Business Book of the Year. When Liz is not at FitFarms she works in the NHS, education and government agencies. She also delivers change programmes in a variety of private organisations and she works with individuals in all walks of life - encouraging and supporting them making real positive changes to their lives.

Trisha Brown
Trisha is a fully qualified personal trainer with the additional qualification of GP referral specialising in weight management. Trisha is also a Nordic Walking instructor and designs the FitFarms cross country walks. She has a passion for endurance training and has competed in many triathlons and iron man events worldwide. She has a great eye for technique and is eager to pass on her knowledge and enthusiasm. Trisha has worked as a manager in National Centres and is a well organised inspirational mentor.

Maddie is the backbone of the FitFarms Marketing strategy. She co-ordinates our PR team and links it in with social marketing spreading the FitFarms good word across the nation and beyond. Maddie has completed the 7 night programme and knows the course inside out. When Maddie is not marketing for FitFarms she enjoys cross country running and kettlebells.

Bruno Camacho
Bruno is a professionally qualified and highly successful Salsa/Latin dance instructor and choreographer. With over 10 years experience in the industry, he does not just teach you to dance, he will bring a real enthusiasm into your step! The dance & fitness classes are always well received by the FitFarms guests and bring a great deal of fun to the week. Bruno also competes at national dance congresses, to keep himself up to date with his dancing and on top of the salsa scene.

Emily Catford
Emily is passionate about the maintenance and rehabilitation of the soft tissues of the human body. She initially qualified as a Sports Massage Practitioner but has now added a vast range of advanced soft tissue techniques to her repertoire. Emily has worked at FitFarms for 3 years joining us from the Barbarians RFC. Emily believes that sports massage helps enhance the functioning of the body and soul enabling you to fulfil your goals. She is also continuing her education by studying for a degree in Sports Science. Emily is also a devoted equestrian and competes her horses in Eventing and Dressage.

Pilates And Barre - Concept Coach

Tricia Durdey
Whilst training to dance in London Tricia went to Pilates classes with Alan Herdman who was one of the first teachers to bring Pilates to England from America. After a dance career involving work in London, Amsterdam, England and Wales Tricia trained to become a Pilates teacher with Pilates foundation master teacher Rachel Rafiefor in 2004 and is a member of the Pilates Foundation UK. Tricia has been at Fitfarms for 5 years and also works with the Goverment on the Fit4All programme. She is best known for her work with “Cantamus” the multi award winning girls choir. She loves to teach people to enjoy moving with ease and elegance and to become strong, supple, balanced and pain free.

Suzy Goodson
Suzy was introduced to Pilates in London, in 1986, and has now been practicing for 26 years. Pilates is an exercise method that increases your strength, flexibility and endurance, and co-ordinates body, mind and spirit. It develops the body uniformly, corrects poor posture and teaches greater body awareness and a better understanding of the way our bodies move, enabling us to self-correct. Suzy trained as a Pilates Matwork teacher in 2004 with ‘The Pilates Foundation UK' and is passionate about Pilates and commited to sharing her belief in its life-changing benefits. She has the ability to teach you how to meet your goals, to increase your level of fitness and core strength, or recover from injury.

Jane Collins
Jane is an excellent yoga instructor. She has been teaching yoga for the past 10 years and training yoga teachers for the past 3 years. She holds diplomas from the British Wheel of Yoga, Sun Power Yoga, and Bright Light Yoga and regularly attends extra yoga training courses to improve her knowledge. She teaches a wide variety of classes covering all age groups and levels (and all body shapes and sizes!) Jane's classes are vibrant and uplifting yet ultimately deeply relaxing.

Katie Lewis
Katie is a qualified fitness instructor who has a profile in most major gym companies as a leading Zumba Instructor. Katie believes “ Zumba fitness is the ultimate combination of creativity and fun that is so rewarding to teach and which makes it so different to other fitness programmes. Zumba is for everyone, all ages and abilities. My class participants know they will get sweaty and have a laugh but they also know they will get the results they are after via a perfect blend of fitness and Zumba magic! It is amazing to see people gain confidence, make friends, have fun and really start to dance. I love exercise and I love dance, what could be better?” Katie also works with “The Village Games Project” and is frequently seen in the Guardian news paper on work that is taking place on promoting sport in rural areas.
